Sharing a bit of my process today.
I’m a color worrier. And committing to a color combo gives me anxiety. Picking colors does not seem to come easy for me. I spend a lot of time staring at a pencil sketch thinking about the right colors to paint. So often I will print out my sketch and do quick little color wash plans - like the one here- quick washes of gouache on laser prints. This one was the 6th one I did before i decided these were the colors this one would be. Then- I start with the eyes.

None of your angst appears in your work, so although your process gives you anxiety, the results share nothing but awe and joy.
ReplyDeleteI love it! It's clever. Yellow, black & white is beautiful color combo. I love your illustrations. I even get fashion ideas from them! I Love your cards so much, I buy some to frame (not give away). They are all in storage now, but soon I will have them all displayed in my new home in Alabama. :-)
