Stripe Shoes in Soho

It took me a while to decide on what shoes to wear... Thank you bunny slippers for approving the final look.  Black and white stripes it was! 

And a Big THANK YOU to Papyrus in soho in NYC for a fabulous card signing event this past weekend.  So much fun!!!

Totes!

A lot goes into backing up for my afternoon working at the coffee shop as I sketch n sip my ice latte for the next 4 hours. Lots of mags to flip thru for some inspiration, iPad, pencil case, rulers and for some reason I always feel the need to throw in at least 3 different sized sketch books in my bag... One never knows. Mascara.  A girls best friend.  I know I certainly DO NOT leave home without it. 

Its a subject I like to paint a lot, even back in 2003 with this still life (ummmm, Great Lash)....

and a bunch of lash inspired paintings came about in 2004...

But this is the mascara sketch i did last year...

that became this painting (one of my new faves!).
